Food and Beverage Management

Programme structure and duration
The Food and Beverage Management Programme is a 1,5 year long (full-time), and is divided in 3 semesters, including a 3-month internship. Students have the opportunity to select top restaurants, hotel chains and resorts in Portugal and abroad to do their internship.

Who should apply?
The Food and Beverage Management Programme aims to provide an education and practical training of excellence to all those who want to pursue a career in the food and beverage area. The Food and Beverage Management Programme is a first step to an exciting future career in the food and beverage area. Career possibilities include, but are not limited to food and beverage assistant or manager, restaurant or operations manager, cost control manager, maitre, sales and marketing assistant.
A high-school (or legal equivalent in Portugal) Diploma, or a Vocational Qualification Level IV (European Qualifications Framework) Course.
A minimum B2 English level (Council of Europe standard), to be assessed through a written test.

The Food and Beverage Management Programme was designed by Turismo de Portugal in partnership with the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne (Switzerland).
At the end of the Hospitality Operations Management Programme the student will be given a Diploma of Technological Specialization in Food and Beverage Management.
With this training students are granted credit units (ECTS) recognized under the Bologna Process. These credits are recognized by several Universities and Higher Education Centers, granting the possibility to pursue a higher education in related areas.
Nota: As Escolas do Turismo de Portugal concedem também apoios aos alunos, mediante o rendimento familiar, i.e. existe um regulamento interno de apoios sociais, designadamente isenção de propinas, subsídios de alimentação, alojamento, transporte, material didáctico e fardamentos e uniformes.
