The Turismo de Portugal Hotel Schools represent a network of 16 schools that provide Tourism vocational education and training for young students and professionals.

Since 1965, the training of human resources for the Tourism sector has been under government supervision. Nowadays, Turismo de Portugal, I.P. is the public institute responsible for the management of these schools. Over the course of time, the network of schools has been subject to numerous changes, accompanying the flow and evolution of the sector. It is our close and privileged relationship with the labour market that has allowed us to guarantee that our students develop the adequate skills and the right attitude.  We are not afraid to make changes in order to keep in tune with progress: that is why we are investing in new facilities in some schools and why we have recently reviewed our curricula in partnership with  Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.

The most recent study of Professional employment, carried out by Turismo de Portugal, concluded that the activity rate (employment + continuing to superior studies) of our students is of 80% after 6 months of conclusion of training and that 65% of our students find a job in less than 1 month. 

Currently, the network offers professional training with academic recognition in the secondary level (level IV), post-secondary level (level V) and also in an innovating format: On-the-Job.

Our Training offer for professionals includes a large variety of courses: from technical modules in the kitchen to a comprehensive programme for hotel directors. The training offered also includes workshops and seminars in the areas of gastronomy and wines open to the general public.
 

Our schools also provide catering services and organise other activities such as team building in the kitchen or bar, available both on the school premises or elsewhere.

For the year 2011/12 the Culinary Arts programme totally taught in English & designed in partnership with Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne will be available in the Hotel Schools of Estoril and Lisboa.
