On 8 March 2023, Mosteiro do Leitão Restaurant challenged students at the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Oeste to a competition about women in the restaurant sector.
EstrELA Monumental has two categories: cuisine and pastry. It aims to promote creativity and innovation with seasonal products.
The contestants must create a starter, a main course, and a dessert. The jury will consider creativity, innovation, and technique, as well as the quality of the ingredients and their nutritional value.
Eleven EHTOeste students accepted the challenge and created the dishes over three months.
The winners, Inês Silvestre (starter), Leonor Tarenta (main course), and Ivânia Oliveira (dessert), were presented with a trophy and badge.
Their recipes will also be included in the new official menu of the Mosteiro do Leitão Restaurant, where part of the profits will go to charities chosen by the winners.
