The Reactivate Tourism | Build the Future Plan seeks to operationalise the objectives defined within the scope of the 2027 Tourism Strategy, i.e. to enhance the territory and communities, boost the economy, enhance knowledge, generate networks and connectivity and project Portugal, with people at the centre of the strategy.

It is therefore essential to develop the skills and strengthen the qualifications of human resources in the sector, to promote the attraction of talent and to reinvigorate the management skills of companies, making them more competitive and more resilient. 

Objectives

The main objective of this programme is to train the territories and their people in the art of hospitality, through the development of an action plan that allows mass training for professionals in the sector and related activities. In a movement, concerted throughout the whole territory, this programme seeks to respond in a closer manner to the identified needs, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the skills and services provided.

This training programme is organised into 3 complementary axes that are implemented in the territory with the support of the Hotel and Tourism School of the region where each municipality is located.

• Axis 1: training addressed to companies and professionals for Tourism - specific action plan for the municipality's territory with free, face-to-face and certified training, according to the diagnosis of needs, in different strategic areas 
• Axis 2: training of tourism development agents in the territories/municipalities - specific programme for the technicians and managers of municipalities and/or other partner entities:
• Axis 3: training for refugees/migrants with a view to integration in the tourism sector.
