EHTPorto's Inês Queirós wins national innovation prize

Our student Inês Queirós, from the Pastry Arts course, was recently honoured with the Innovation Award in the most recent edition of the ‘À Mesa dos Portugueses’ by Auchan competition, thanks to her dessert entitled ‘Carioca’.
The ‘À Mesa dos Portugueses’ by Auchan competition, in its most recent edition, stood out for its celebration of gastronomic diversity, inviting amateur cooks to present recipes inspired by the flavours of the world.
In a recent interview, Inês Queirós shared that the ‘Carioca’, which won her the Innovation Prize (worth a total of €500 - €300 in purchases at Auchan (on a Bom Bom card), a gastronomic experience for two people and a set of professional ICEL knives) is an original creation, developed using techniques new to her, and that the dessert is inspired by her roots.
Inês' participation in the competition and winning the Innovation Award highlight the importance of events like “À Mesa dos Portugueses” for students in the gastronomic field. These competitions offer a platform to showcase talent, creativity and innovation, providing visibility and recognition that can boost careers in gastronomy.
In turn, the experience gained and the feedback received are invaluable for developing skills and building a solid reputation.
In short, competitions like ‘À Mesa dos Portugueses’ are more than competitions; they are celebrations of the culinary arts that boost careers and foster innovation, contributing to the enrichment of global gastronomic culture.
