Our mission is to train professionals with the technical capacity and initiative to welcome tourists, through the development of activities focused on eco-sustainability, responsibility and ethics with the customer, in order to respond to the needs of the market in the segment of Nature and Adventure Tourism.

The Technological Specialisation Course in Adventure and Nature Tourism Management prepares students for the exercise of technical functions in tourism information and entertainment companies and events.

This course is the result of a joint partnership with APECATE, an association that brings together and represents the congress, tourism entertainment and events companies in Portugal, as a strategic partner for the technological training components.

This training allows the acquisition of knowledge and technical skills in the area of outdoor tourism, as well as integrated management skills, based on innovative learning models.

Who can attend the course?

  • Adults aged 18 or over, holders of secondary education or legally equivalent qualification
  • Holders of a technological specialisation diploma or a higher education degree or diploma who wish to undergo professional requalification
  • Attendance of an education or training course or an RVCC (Recognition, Validation and Certification of Professional Skills) process, at secondary level
  • 2 semesters + 1 curricular internship + Initiation Programme (150h)
  • The Course in Nature and Adventure Tourism has a duration of 1 year (full-time), divided into 2 semesters, including a curricular internship of 500h duration. Students have the opportunity to select reference tourism information and entertainment companies and events to carry out their internship.
  • The Initiation Programme (150h) corresponds to a training plan for the acquisition of skills for entry to the course for students without training in a related area, and they may be recognised and exempted from attending the training units that compose it.
  • Course Value €1,000 (*) Payment in Instalments € 100 x 10
  • (*) These values have a reduction of 50% in the Vila Real de Santo António School.

Career Opportunities

  • The Specialist Technician in Adventure and Nature Tourism Management is a professional qualified to design, plan, organise and monitor programmes of outdoor tourism activities, autonomously framing the participating customers, under the technical and touristic point of view, in activities corresponding to their area and level of specialisation and participating in the management and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

The Schools of Turismo de Portugal have protocols signed with various national and international higher education institutions.  

This training offer allows the continuation of studies towards higher education in a related area, establishing the connection between the training of intermediate staff, recognition of knowledge and skills and the respective conclusion of a cycle of higher studies.

At the end of the Course, students obtain a Technological Specialisation Diploma, which gives access to the exercise of the occupation of Specialist Technician in Tourism Management.
