The Vocational Course of Events Organisation Techniques prepares students to design and organise national and international events, with the aim of generating business, leisure and promotional, information and learning opportunities for participants.

Who can attend the course?

  • Holders of the 9th grade or legally equivalent qualification
  • Young people up to the age of 25. Preferably students under the age of 20.
  • 3 academic years + 2 curricular internships
  • The Vocational Course of Events Organisation Techniques has a duration of 3 years (full-time), divided into 6 semesters, including 2 curricular internships of 3 months duration each. Students have the opportunity to select leading events companies, hotel chains, resorts and other organisations in Portugal and abroad to carry out their internships.

  • Analysing the needs and constraints presented by the client to design the event and assess its viability.
  • Designing and defining the event to be held, creating the idea and conceptual layout of the event and developing its branding, considering the client's needs and the budget previously identified.
  • General planning of the event
  • Presenting the event proposal to the client, with a view to approval, specifying the type and programme of the event, the resources required and the associated cost and revenue estimates.
  • Designing information and promotion plans for the event and managing its development with the target audience.
  • Carry out detailed planning of the event with a view to its implementation.
  • Providing the resources to organise the event
  • Coordinating and accompanying the work teams in the implementation of the event, ensuring compliance with the production schedule and responding to unforeseen and/or emergency situations.
  • Evaluating the overall performance of the event, to improve performance in subsequent events.
  • Promoting the dissemination of the event's results to the media and/or the target audience, namely by organising press conferences, conducting interviews with journalists, setting up press rooms and developing videoconferences.

Career Opportunities

  • The Event Organisation Technician is the professional qualified to plan and execute corporate, social or cultural events; organise large commercial and industrial events; provide specialised services for companies or individual clients; coordinate artistic and cultural events or work as a freelancer in event management and organisation.

This training offer allows the continuation of studies towards the Technological Specialisation Courses of the network of Schools of Turismo de Portugal and towards higher education in a related area, establishing the connection between the training of intermediate staff, recognition of knowledge and skills and the respective conclusion of a cycle of higher studies.

At the end of the course, the students obtain the equivalence to the 12th grade and a level 4 qualification diploma, which gives access to the profession of Events Organizer  Technician.
